Sir Francis Dashwood II (1708 – 1781) is mostly responsible for the look of West Wycombe House and garden. He commissioned features including a swan- shaped lake, a cascade, bridges, statues, and temples. Francis is notorious for founding the Knights of St Francis of Wycombe, also known as the Hell-Fire Club.
