My Working Chair – Julian Grigg, Downley

“My Covid work-from-home chair is one of a set of four dining chairs that originally belonged to my wife’s grandparents. She inherited them and I remember travelling back from Manchester to my then girlfriend’s flat in High Wycombe with a very overloaded car full of furniture. My wife’s grandparents married the day before World War 2 broke out and now these chairs are seeing us through Covid times. This chair isn’t exactly the ergonomically adjustable type of chair I would have in the office but it’s comfortable enough and it’s good to give it a use. We haven’t been using these chairs recently but we can’t bring ourselves to get rid of them!”
