My Working Chair – Graham Skinner, Beaconsfield

“‘A Chair for a Chair’

A well-worn and much loved captain’s chair for a chair-person steering the crew of the Parkinson’s UK Amersham and High Wycombe Branch committee through the waves of coronavirus to deliver safely a cargo of essential, timely support and contact to its 200 local members into their homes. We do this with regular live-streamed exercise classes, ‘Warblers’ singing, Dancing4Fun, and monthly meetings offering up-to-date specialist care information, special interest talks, and social interaction while we are unable to get together in-person.
This chair was a present from my mother and has accompanied me through most of my journey in life and upholds me now securely as a ‘person with Parkinson’s’ in my latest volunteer post to help our community.”
