My Restored Chair – Edna Greenwood, High Wycombe

“This is our favourite chair, it’s the prototype of the original Parker Knoll recliner purchased direct from the factory at Parker Knoll in High Wycombe when I worked there in 1967. The price then was £15 – one and a half week’s wages! It was at the time upholstered in black cirrus (mock leather) and we had it recovered in 1989 at a cost of £345.
Recent enquiries about having it reupholstered now give a price of £1000.00. Perhaps not!”
