We’re so excited to be hosting a Tambour Beader in Residence on Friday 23rd & Sunday 25th June!

Jan Timms has worked as a tambour beader for some of the leading couturiers and she has beaded costumes for film, TV and theatre including for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Sunset Boulevard’ and for Michelle Yeoh in ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’. Come and watch Jan demonstrating her craft, sewing on beads and sequins to create luxury garments. Learn about Jan’s life as a beader and all the sparkle she has given to costumes, including Elton John’s birthday suit!

Jann Timms will be beading in our exhibition gallery between 10.30am – 1pm and 2 – 3.30pm on Friday & SUnday.

This event is part of our Hidden Hands: Women and Work in the Chilterns exhibition programme.
