Event Details

During the 65 years since the author, Bryan K Edgley MBE FRSA, and his late wife, Alison, married and took over the management of Kensham Farm at Cadmore End, Buckinghamshire in 1955, there have been huge changes in farm practice. From hard work by general farm workers assisted by working horses to the highly mechanised and productive methods used by present day specialist arable farmers. These changes have been a great as the changes from sail to steam in shipping.

In his talk Bryan will show all the photos from his recently published book ‘‘The Changing Pattern of Farming 1912 – 2020″, starting with photos taken by his father over 100 years ago, with a camera that used glass quarter plates rather than film, the through the decades to recent photos taken by his grandson with a drone.
