Showcasing Wycombe Museum’s collaboration with Bucks New University at their annual conference. Find out more about our Reviving the Wycombe Chair project, including the chance to see some 3D scans and learn more about some of our iconic chairs.

The BNU Academic Conference 2026 is a two-day event taking place on Tuesday June 30th and Wednesday July 1st 2026.
This is part of the first day, the Research and Knowledge Exchange. The first day will highlight the importance of transdisciplinary research co-designed and co-produced with partners beyond the academy, and explore systematically the integrative methods that underpin interdisciplinary research and knowledge exchange.

The full conference runs 10am – 5pm. This showcase is running 4-5pm.

Chair Festival

This event is part of Wycombe Museum’s 2026 Chairs Festival, running through July in celebration of the unique chairmaking heritage of Wycombe and the local area. With a varied programme of events, you’ll learn how the industry grew from the local landscape into thriving furniture production which proudly continues today. The festival is also celebrating the grand opening of Wycombe Museum’s new chair store, the Chair Discovery Centre. Join us to celebrate the stories, the chairs and the surroundings which make up our history.

The Chair Festival is being organised by Wycombe Museum with funding support from Opportunity Bucks, Rotshchild Foundation, and We Make Wycombe.
