Babes in the Wood is an outdoor forest school session, where your little ones can enjoying nature in the Museum’s beautiful grounds, whatever the weather!
Join us for an hour and a half outdoor play and exploring, with a different theme every time.
Sessions can include any mix of exploring, cooking and singing around the campfire, playing, mixing mud, seasonal natural crafts and activities, swinging, building, and much more.
Babes in the Wood is for toddlers (around 18mth+) up to 5 yrs. Children should wear suitable outdoor clothing for the weather. Advance booking is essential – we’ll ask you for some medical and dietary needs details at point of booking to make sure everything runs safely in your session.

Babes in the Wood is run by the wonderful Julie Hopton of Nature’s Jewels – a local educator and outdoorswoman with 30+ years experience in Environmental Education & Conservation, with an undying passion for nature and wildlife.
Tickets
Tickets £8.90 per child. Pre-booking essential.
Tickets required for participating children – accompanying adults do not need a ticket.
Tickets are subject to the terms of Wycombe Museum’s Ticketing Policy.
Accessibility & Parking Information
Wycombe Museum’s buildings are fully wheelchair accessible, with a disabled-access lift and toilets.
Some parts of are garden have some steep slopes or uneven paved pathways that may be difficult to access for those with limited mobility. There is a wooded mound in our gardens that is stepped access only.
We have a small amount of free on-site parking, including disabled parking.
Metered road-side parking is available on The Greenway, Priory Avenue and Priory Road, which is all free on Sundays. Multi-storey parking is available at Easton Street Car Park, High Wycombe Train Station Car Park, and Castle Street Car Park, and are all within a five minute walk.
Our nearest public transport links are at High Wycombe Train Station, and Castle Street bus stops.
Wycombe Museum is just a short walk from High Wycombe Town Centre. We’re 5 minutes away from the High Street – you can find us by crossing over the footbridges on the railway line.
