Wycombe Museum’s enquiries service is currently closed
We are currently preparing to open the Chair Discovery Centre, an open store housing our furniture collection and archives. This is a project we’re very excited about, and is the culmination of many years of work. Our curatorial staff are part-time, and their time is currently fully occupied with the logistics, collections care, and coordination that goes along with the project’s completion.
We invite you to take a look at our FAQs webpage, which answers many common questions we receive. We plan to reopen our enquiries service again at the earliest opportunity.
Wycombe Museum offers an enquiries service, answering questions about local history matters. This is a service that we offer for free, but would be grateful for any donations that you are able to make to support us.
Wycombe Museum does not collect Natural History or Archaeology. Buckinghamshire County Museum collects these for the whole county, including the Wycombe area.
Wycombe Museum does not usually collect archives and documents except those relating to the local furniture industry, although for historic reasons we do look after some. Buckinghamshire Archives collect and look after archives for Buckinghamshire including the High Wycombe area.
High Wycombe Library has a reference section relating to the history of the area.
