Chair Festival
Chairs are key to Wycombe’s history.
Wycombe Museum’s Chair Festival takes place throughout July 2026 to recognise the unique chairmaking heritage of the local area.
We’re also celebrating the grand opening of our new Chair Discovery Centre. It’s a home for the museum’s nationally significant stored collection of over 200 chairs which until now haven’t been accessible to the public. From July onwards, it will be open to the everyone for a peek behind the museum scenes on scheduled Open Days.
Through the Chair Festival’s programme of exhibitions and events, discover how the industry grew from the local landscape into thriving furniture production which proudly continues today. Join us to celebrate the stories, the chairs and the surroundings which make up our history.
