Big Days Out
With previous sessions seeing the Museum transported back in time for a Medieval Fun Day, transformed into a haven for creepy crawlies for our Big Buganza Day Out, and a creative wonderland for a Family Arts Festival, what will be next for our Big Days Out? Perfect for all the family, Big Days Out can offer anything from dressing up to story-telling, craft sessions and delicious food – sometimes even wildlife! Check our events listings to book and see what we’ll do next…
Thursday Night Lates
On the second Thursday of every month, the Museum extends its opening hours! Open until 9pm, our Thursday Night Lates workshops and talks run in the evenings with new themes for each monthly session – previous Lates have included live music, showcasing local produce, and crafting evenings. Check our events listings for our next themes, or just take advantage of this extra time to browse the galleries and exhibitions – entry, as always, is FREE!
Tiny Talk Time
This special time for 2 to 4 year-olds includes stories, singing and nursery rhymes, craft activities, and trails around the Museum. What better way to spend some quality time with your little ones? Tiny Talk Time runs Friday and Saturday fortnightly during term-time. Each session’s activities are based around a different well-loved story, which you can check on our listings page. Sessions can fill up fast, so book here to avoid disappointment!
Discover and Make
Each of these kids activity sessions has a different topic – from holiday themes, designing your own coat of arms, and creating electrical circuits – come along to discover and make! Sessions run most Tuesdays and Thursdays during school holidays. Check our events listings for more information and to pre-book your tickets.
These reminiscence mornings are an opportunity for people of all ages to meet socially and share their stories of the past. They are free, drop-in, and last approximately 45 minutes. All are welcome. Sessions usually run on the first or second Tuesday of the month. Check our events listings for the dates of our next session.
